Tribute to Ritchie, Holly and the Bopper by E. Cochran

Anyone heard this song? its called "Three Stars" he speaks a bit to each of these guys in his songs, its really touching. He address Ritchie and says how he is a guide now to all the other young teenagers. Good stuff.

When he is speaking about Buddy Holly his voice breaks a bit, i guess he was getting quite teary and sad, i never heard it before, so it's cool to experience these new things.

Eddie Cochran for those who dont know him, he was another young guy, just 3 years older than Ritchie, he died the following year in a car accident. He was very popular, and he an awesome unique rock n rolling tone for that era. R.I.P[/list]

I am familiar with this cut. Eddie Cochran has always held a special place with me. I love his music. What an amazing artist, and another terrible loss.

If you've been following my posts, you'd know that I'm also a big Brian Setzer fan. Brian gives serious credit to Eddie Cochran for the influence on his own music. Good stuff.

When I was in college, my buddies and I used to sing "C'mon Everybody" at the top of our lungs on the front porch of our house. "Summertime Blues" was on my band's set list from the beginning.

If any of you guys are Beatles fans/historians, it is said that Paul McCartney first impressed John Lennon when they met by singing Eddie's "20 Flight Rock" (Let alone the fact that Paul actually knew how to tune a guitar!!).

I hope that everyone is well. Keep rockin'!

Another intresting fact about Eddie Cochrans Version of Three Stars, The recording is made up of several diffrent takes, Spliced together, because every take he did was to emotional for him to sing and he ended up crying, so they took all the best parts from each take to create his version of the song, however, you can still hear how emotional he was. hope this makes sense...LOL

Yes it is true, you can hear a quiver in his voice sometimes, especially at the Buddy Holly bit, I simply love that song, simplistic, but get it's point across very well.

R.I.P Eddie Cochran too :(

Eddie Cochran is another Legand he was devistated by the deaths of Ritchie,Holly and Bopper he had grown real close to Ritchie for what i can gather...... When you actually sit and think about todays music nothing compares to the rock n roll era and these preformers they truly loved music and each and everyone of them had raw talent and will never ever be forgotten unlike todays 1 hit wonders bring back the 50s n 60s thats what i say lol
