It's never too late!

Postby Gretschster6120 » Tue Mar 17, 2009 8:29 am

Hello Connie and to the rest of the Valenzuela famiy. I am 40 years old from Montreal Canada! I live in a place and a time that are so far from the roots of Rock N' Roll, and I remember discovering the music of Ritchie when the movie La Bamba came out when I was just 19 years of age. At the time I had no interest or appreciation for Rock N' Roll music and the artists of that time. I've played guitar on and off since I was 12, and a few years ago I suddenly became very interested in music of the 50's and bought my first Gretsch Guitar.

Just wanted to let you that 50 years later it is never too late to appreciate Ritchie's music and talent. I am certain that his memory will live way after the 100th year anniversary.

Regards

I have to agree with this. My husband suggested to my 9 year old son that he watch LaBamba and now he is hooked on Richie Valens and a lot of the other 50s music but especially Richie Valens. He loves youtube. We bought a record player and have been seeking out 33s and 45s for him to listen to the "original" music. He loves it! We are making plans to go to the Winter Dance party concer this spring. He is so excited, he is telling everyone. It is never too late and you are never too young!
